anyone seen this?

the issue...
the man was quoted repeatedly that the rate for data service while in canada is .002 CENTS per KB, however he was charged and the actual rate in the system is .002 DOLLARS per KB. the issue is that he used over 35,000 KB while in canada, a charge that should have been roughly 72 cents according to the quote he was given, however, because it is actually .002 DOLLARS per KB, he was charge the accurate $72.
he tried to call and get it resolved. it would make sense that if he was misquoted so many times that he should pay what was quoted....
this is a recording of his last coversation on the subject with the reps at verizon:
you can see that they all understand that 1 cent is less than 1 dollar... but none of them seem to understand that .002 cents is less than .002 dollars...
it's easier if you put it on paper, me thinks...
.002 dollars is .2 cents
.002 cents is .00002 dollars.
it's not that hard for most of us to understand, i'm sure... but for whatever reason, these people just don't get it.
the plus side is that the guy finally got credited... he had to break down and send a letter, where, after posting a link to the google calculator, and a link to the recording of the call, as well as suggesting he speak with someone in the accounting deptartment as they would certainly understand the problem, and represeting the numbers on a fixed page, they were able to understand the difference and credit him the amount he was overcharged on the misquote.
this is a definite WOW situation...
lol.
enjoy the hilarity.
